Dear Friends,
Happy Holidays! We’ve wrapped up our applications for this year’s seniors, and I am exceedingly proud of all of their hard work. To prospective and future families – welcome!
Next year, I’ll be limiting my roster to 10 students, so please refer your friends soon. Anyone you refer who signs up before January 1st will receive 2025 pricing!
Every year, my students’ wisdom astounds me. A few examples from their essays:
- Finding joy in what I’m doing, experiencing the camaraderie that comes with being on a team, leading with kindness – all of these are more important to me than winning.
- Music allows me to see and truly relate to others, giving me glimpses into their souls.
- The unfamiliar is no longer an adversary; it’s an invitation.
- I realize now that even when the worst happens, I can grow from it.
- The goals I score, the grades I earn, the titles I hold will fade, but the relationships I build, the quiet hugs, the smiles shared, the people I uplift, those will last.
- I’ve come to terms with the idea that I’m not the same as those who walk the halls of my school, and I understand now that we should cherish what makes us individuals.
- When we shift our perspectives, beauty can be found in unexpected places, like a flower growing in the crack of the pavement.
- I’ve learned that sometimes embracing the beauty of what I am doing is more important than being perfect or getting first place.
- Scientific curiosity and human compassion can, and should, be connected.
- When I’m learning about past people and their ways of life …I am inspired by humanity’s ingenuity, tenacity, and creativity.
- תמיד לומד מהעולם I want to show others what I know to be true that my classroom is more than just books, it is people, history, and the interactions I have everyday.
- Wherever it is that I end up in my life and my career, I know that I’ll bring the lessons of the ocean with me.
- I know it’s not fair to judge without knowing their story, so I give them one through my songs, and this helps me see each person’s vulnerability clearly.
Thank you for sharing your children with me. I’m profoundly grateful to them and to you.
Cheers!
-Martha
